My views on the Vande Mataram issue.

About Vande Mataram being made compulsory in school.

That is good. I've always had Vande Mataram sung during my school prayers and I see nothing wrong with it.

Do I expect Muslims to sing it?

Yes I do. Its a national song and I've always said, Country comes before everything else. I would have had no problems singing an islamic song (if there was any), if it was the national song.

About some Muslims having a problem with it.

Everyone should sing it. Some Muslims say its against their religion to sing it. But that is no excuse. Its quite stupid to see everything from the point of view of religion.

What should those who refuse to sing because they think their religion doesnt permit it do?

Either they should change their religion or they should change their country. India being a secular country is against the principles of Islam too right? And I would also like if all those who are forcing it on Muslims leave the country too. Patriotism and loyalty cant be forced. Also the country will be much better without people who look at everything from religion's point of view.

Or they can go to court asking juDJe to change the song. But as long as its the national song, everyone has to sing it. As simple as that.
